Although I was part of the inaugural team in 2003, my path through HR has not been a direct one, starting my career in architectural design then armed with a Bachelor of Commerce heading to New York working as an associate producer for a theatre company. After an initial four years with Brannigans, I was approached to become the sales and marketing director for the largest rural telecommunications company in New Zealand and from there became a Regional Manager for one of the oldest stock and station companies in Australasia. But eventually, the pull of Brannigans was too great, where I returned as part of the management buyout.
I believe my collective career background and experiences really help our clients. My ability to walk in the shoes of my clients makes me a stronger consultant as my expertise is based on real-life experience, not just theory. I have strong commercial acumen and a broad understanding of business. I am very proud of our candidate search capabilities and pride myself on being able to find a needle in the proverbial haystack for our clients.
I enjoy working with clients, many of whom have become good friends over the years. To me it’s always a partnership rather than a client/consultant relationship.
I genuinely enjoy adding value to our clients’ organisations and developing and maintaining long-term relationships that allow us to grow together, achieving great outcomes that deliver their organisational goals.
Currently, I sit on the Industry Advisory Board for the University of Canterbury MBA and Board of the Sumner Lifeboat.
I like to make the most of the amazing city we live in – I ski in the winter, run out to Godley Heads in the weekends and enjoy supporting my daughters’ football, rugby and surf lifesaving endeavours.
