Executive Assistant

Waimea College

  • Nelson
  • Permanent

Waimea College, a well-regarded local secondary school, is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-quality executive and administrative support to the Principal and wider leadership team.

This pivotal role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Executive Assistant who enjoys being the person behind the scenes — anticipating needs, managing priorities and ensuring communication, information and key activities flow smoothly across the College.

About the role
Supporting the Principal and wider leadership team, this role provides comprehensive executive support including meeting coordination, correspondence, preparation of documentation, communication management and coordination of key activities and projects.

A key part of the role will be helping the Principal navigate a busy and varied schedule by anticipating requirements, managing priorities and ensuring the right information and support is available to enable effective decision-making.

The role also provides support across the wider College, including coordinating Senior Leadership Team activities, assisting with school events, supporting recruitment processes and contributing to Board administration through the preparation of documentation, meeting support and follow-up actions.

This role is a permanent and fulltime role working 40 hours a week across 50 weeks of the year (6 weeks leave by arrangement).

About you
An experienced Executive Assistant who enjoys working closely with senior leaders and being a trusted member of a team, you will bring strong organisational skills, excellent written communication and the ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and care.

With confidence using technology and systems, you will be comfortable preparing high-quality documentation, managing competing priorities and using your judgement to anticipate what is needed and when.

Experience supporting senior leaders or working within a complex environment will be highly valued.

Why Waimea College?
Waimea College is a well-regarded secondary school committed to providing an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment for students, staff and the wider community.

This role provides the opportunity to work alongside dedicated leaders and a committed team, contributing to the smooth operation of the College and supporting the people and processes that help make the school a great place to work and learn.
