This is a genuinely flexible opportunity – part-time or full-time – for a seasoned CA who wants to stay technically engaged and put decades of experience to good use, without the demands of a client-facing portfolio, and with room to build in a better life balance.
The Role
You’ll be the firm’s technical reviewer – the considered second set of eyes before work goes to clients. It’s the detailed technical layer beneath the partners’ final sign-off, not front-line deadline work, and it will help the firm clear a growing review backlog as it expands. Day to day, you’ll:
- Review workpapers, financial statements, tax returns and compliance work before issue to clients
- Provide technical guidance on accounting, tax and business advisory matters
- Research and resolve complex technical issues, and mentor accountants through constructive review feedback
- Maintain quality and best-practice standards, and improve workpapers, workflows, templates and review processes
Your review feedback is how less experienced accountants learn, and depending on your background there may also be scope to contribute to higher-level advisory work. Hours can be genuinely shaped around you – part-time or full-time, hybrid if that suits – so you can do great technical work while having a life outside it too.
Skills and Experience
You’ll bring solid senior-level chartered accounting experience and a sharp technical eye across accounting, tax and compliance, with the confidence to review complex work, resolve technical questions and give clear, constructive feedback.
You’ll enjoy mentoring and knowledge-sharing, and be comfortable working autonomously in a flexible arrangement suited to a seasoned CA career. Above all, you’ll take real pride in getting the technical detail right – while appreciating a firm that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
If you’re looking to stay technically sharp, share your expertise, and work on your own terms, this could be the perfect next step.
