Nelson Marina is a strategically vital asset to our region and fully owned by Nelson City Council. Managed by the Nelson Marina Management Board, it has transitioned to an Asset‑Owning Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) from 1 July 2025. We are seeking two Directors to join the board to guide the Marina through its next phase of growth and development.  The focus will be on leading the delivery of the Nelson Marina Masterplan, which includes a substantial set of development projects.  The Masterplan aims to transform Nelson Marina into a modern, integrated marine and recreational facility for everyone to enjoy.  In addition, it will open business opportunities for the marina, tenants and our wider Whakatū/ Nelson community.

We are seeking a seasoned governance professional with prior experience on a commercial board.  Given the Marina development priorities, we are seeking expertise across property, commercial and infrastructure development, together with a finance specialist, preferably a qualified Chartered Accountant, with strong knowledge of the tax implications, opportunities and benefits of innovative financial and funding structures.
