Key Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be a strategic partner shaping how ASG’s safety and sustainability performance is understood, governed and communicated at all levels. You will take systems already certified and make them sharper, more deeply lived and something ASG is proudly known for, providing the CEO and Board with the assurance they need while ensuring the field experience matches what is on paper. You will also lead ASG’s sustainability work both internally and as a real commercial asset, supporting customer facing teams to position ASG credibly as the partner that helps customers decarbonise. You will additionally enable the branch network to take ownership of critical risks across the business by building a high trust culture where safety sits with ownership in the line rather than being delegated to head office, while also bringing digitally capable leadership to the data and platforms that support safety performance.
Your Skills and Experience
You will bring senior safety leadership experience gained in a multi-site, technical, field-based business such as industrial services, refrigeration, HVAC, construction or manufacturing, with a track record of lifting reporting rates and earning genuine trust in the field. Comfortable operating at Board level, you know how to translate officer duty assurance into language the Board can act on and bring strong critical risk and investigation experience with a focus on system cause rather than blame. Sustainability literate, you understand carbon, energy and refrigerant transitions and how to build a credible sustainability position. A recognised health and safety qualification is desirable, along with HASANZ registration and NZISM membership. Calm and low ego, you genuinely enjoy people and can take real ownership of the role, backed by also having a digitally savvy growth mindset.
