Nelson Pine Industries Ltd operates a large modern Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) production line alongside three Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) lines at its Richmond site. They have built an excellent reputation for the quality and consistency of their products, reliability of supply, sustainable low environmental impact management practices and commitment to product and production development. 

Nelson Pine Industries are currently looking to employ a Mechanical Fitter to support their MDF operation, completing repairs and maintenance, modifications and installations to maintain the smooth operation and reliability of plant equipment. 

Working from the MDF workshop, this predominantly day work role operates Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with overtime as required. You will also provide support and cover for shift maintenance when required. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter who enjoys being hands-on, working with machinery and solving practical maintenance challenges. A trade-qualified fitter with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment would be an advantage. You will bring a positive and reliable approach, with the ability to work well as part of a team while also confidently managing tasks independently. 

With strong mechanical fault-finding skills, attention to detail and a commitment to doing quality work safely, you will enjoy a varied role supporting the ongoing operation and reliability of the plant. You will also bring the ability to communicate well with operators and contribute ideas for ongoing improvements.
