The Role
Based in Christchurch as a Transport Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the mission to design, plan, and optimise transportation systems that enhance the quality of life for our clients and communities. The majority of your work will be in the development sector, you will provide specialist engineering knowledge through your accurate and complete assessments and preparation of reports across a range of projects, sectors and industries from rural roads to inner city commercial developments.
You will liaise with clients to understand their challenges and to provide clear direction and design advice within a resource management framework to clients, designers, planners and councils within agreed timeframes.
The Person
As this is a consulting role which is predominately office based, we’re after someone who is comfortable writing reports but also enjoys building lasting client relationships and genuinely enjoys solving problems. We’re after someone with development and resource consenting experience as this will be essential as you collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure traffic and transportation aspects are seamlessly integrated into development projects.
A development orientation will also be critical as we’re looking for someone with a deep understanding of the development process. Your role will involve working closely with developers, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure that transportation solutions align with development goals. Your pragmatic approach to problem-solving will be valued as you tackle real-world challenges in traffic engineering. Whether it’s optimising traffic flow, improving safety, or enhancing accessibility, your solutions will have a lasting impact. Being able to articulate yourself verbally and via written communication will also be important.
While we are ideally seeking an Intermediate Transport Engineer, we would also consider a Junior Transport Engineer who has gained great experience in a previous role or a Senior Transport Engineer looking for their next move.
