The Role
Based in Christchurch and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing customer relationships, and expanding TWS’s market presence. You will oversee both new and existing business across utilities, OEMs, consultancy, and industrial customers, balancing hands-on sales activity with strategic account management, quoting, and tender submissions. The role requires a dynamic individual who can manage customer expectations, work closely with cross-functional teams, and deliver on commercial goals while leading and managing a Sales Associate in their day-to-day activities.
This position plays a key role in shaping TWS’s commercial strategy and supporting the business in commercial execution, by driving market access, and representing TWS as a trusted partner across energy networks and infrastructure projects. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for building a strong pipeline, forecasting, and reporting on sales performance while ensuring the business is well positioned for sustainable growth.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring significant sales or business development experience, ideally within the electrical, industrial, or engineered products sectors. A proven track record of achieving sales targets, managing customer relationships, and executing tenders/quotes is essential. You will have strong commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complex sales cycles while maintaining a customer-focused approach. Experience with utilities, protection, switchgear, or power distribution equipment is highly advantageous.
You will be a natural leader, capable of mentoring and guiding junior team members, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to work independently, will be key to your success in this role.
