The Role
Reporting to the Trustees, the General Manager – Establishment Phase will play a pivotal role in bringing the Hub to life ensuring it becomes a thriving, sustainable community asset. You will lead the initial establishment phase and operational readiness of the Hub by contributing to key project delivery milestones. You will build and maintain strong relationships with potential occupiers, local government, funders, neighbouring landowners, along with the wider business and community network. This includes leading community engagement, consultation and negotiation to achieve an occupancy mix that aligns with the Hub’s vision and values. Acting as the public face of the Hub, you will represent the Trust at events, meetings and in communications, fostering inclusion and community participation. A key focus of the role will be driving the Hub’s Revenue Generation Strategy to secure corporate, philanthropic, grant and community funding for long term sustainability. This is a unique opportunity to shape a purpose driven community hub that will serve Queenstown and the surrounding region for generations to come.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, leveraging your experience in relationship management and stakeholder engagement across business, government, and community sectors. You will bring strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in fundraising, grant acquisition, partnership development or revenue generation, while confidently acting as the public face of the organisation to build trust and rapport with diverse audiences. A deep understanding of community organisations, social infrastructure, and local needs within the Queenstown Lakes District will be invaluable. Project management experience with exposure to construction, property or complex multi-stakeholder environments is highly desirable.
