The Role
Located in Balclutha and reporting to the Three Waters Operations Manager, this role will lead, develop and manage a team of water treatment plant operators and trainees who oversee the day-to-day operations of the water treatment plants. Focusing on a group of geographically based plants, you will ensure the reliable operation of facilities, the protection of the environment, and the continuous supply of safe drinking water to the community.
You will:
- Lead and support your team to deliver high-quality operational performance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for drinking water and environmental protection
- Oversee operational planning, maintenance schedules, and process optimisation
- Foster a strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture
- Support the growth and development of team members through coaching and training.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in water treatment or a similar operational environment
- Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes and systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A commitment to environmental protection and public health
- Relevant qualifications in water treatment or the willingness to work towards them.
