The Role
Based in Christchurch and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the operational functions and performance of the New Zealand business unit. This is a key leadership role with oversight across production, purchasing, distribution centre operations, HR and compliance, while also contributing to strategic planning. You will work closely with a skilled leadership team including the Production Manager, HR Leader, Compliance Manager and the technical engineering team to ensure quality, safety and delivery standards are consistently achieved.
  
A strong focus of the role will be developing people capability, lifting operational performance, managing budgets and ensuring alignment with wider group objectives. You will be expected to lead continuous improvement initiatives, drive cultural and commercial outcomes, and ensure the business is well positioned for sustainable growth.
  
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring proven senior leadership experience in operations, manufacturing or general management – ideally within electrical, engineered products or related industrial sectors. You will be commercially astute, with a track record of leading high performing teams and delivering results, particularly in a compliance related environment, and be willing to manage and oversee the team at the day to day operational level.
  
Strong communication and organisational skills will be key, as will your ability to drive change and build a positive and accountable workplace culture. Experience with compliance frameworks, laboratory environments or electrical testing standards will be advantageous, as will financial acumen including cost centre or P&L responsibility. Most importantly, you will be a ‘hands on’ leader who combines strategic oversight with the ability to influence, motivate and lead teams through growth and improvement.
