This role will support their growth strategy by meeting the customer demands from within New Zealand and abroad.The RoleThis role will be part of a small team of skilled Engineers who manufacture the drills which are custom made for their clients. The main responsibilities involve interpreting drawings from a CAD system and undertaking the full manufacturing and assembly process including light to heavy fabrication within agreed specifications. The role will be involved in offsite setup and support and includes trouble shooting and completing repairs and maintenance when required.Quality and personal health and safety are paramount within the workshop and business. If the successful applicant comes from outside the area, a relocation package will be considered. Some of the current team travel daily from Timaru.Your Skills and ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will have a relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience. You will have a high level of engineering knowledge and understanding with a minimum 2-4 years’ experience as a welder/fabricator in general engineering. Experience working with similar machinery or within a similar industry will be an advantage along with the ability to interpret CAD drawings and specifications. In addition welding skills (Mig) and the ability to operate tools and computer controlled machinery are required. Forklift operation is part of the role and experience is an advantage but training will be provided training if needed.You will have great attention to detail, a quality and safe approach to working, be results focused and able to effectively communicate across the business with a strong customer focus. You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and a minimum restricted drivers licence is required for this position.
