The Christchurch Foundation’s role is to make greater Otautahi better by growing philanthropy.  We are a Community Foundation, the fastest growing form of informed and impact led philanthropy on the planet.  We work to match generosity to resident aspiration and community need to deliver smart, grassroots informed programmes. Sometimes we are simply the funding vehicle passing funds on to great local charities and social enterprises. Other times we are the project delivery vehicle, however all that we do is focused on supporting donors to make a tangible difference, therefore making greater Selwyn, Waimakariri and Christchurch better.  The Foundation works closely with its sister organisation in the UK and is actively working to establish registered charities in other countries to make it easier for expatriates to give back to home.Expressions of interest from potential Trustees for the Trust Board of The Christchurch Foundation (TCF) are now being sought as the organisation completes its establishment phase. This is a unique opportunity for experienced governors who are passionate about, and understand how TCF can continue to build on, and enable greater Otautahi Christchurch, our wider region and our communities to prosper. To succeed in these roles, you will be a diverse and strategic thinker and be an active participant around the Board table, have a solid appreciation of governance best practice and be passionate about the journey and impact TCF makes in the community. The company is seeking skill diversity on its Board, with a preference given to candidates with experience and credibility in some of the following areas:Investment Management plus strong financial acumenProperty and construction projectsStrong stakeholder relations experience that represents the diverse range of greater Otautahi Christchurch/and or expatriate communitiesExperience in capital raisingPrevious governance experienceYou will also be able to build sustainable relationships across New Zealand and the Kiwi expatriate ecosystem and have the capacity to attend relevant events.
