Christchurch based and reporting to the Senior Head of Department, we are looking to appoint a Systems Engineer who will work closely and support the team of Senior Engineers to provide technical expertise and support to primarily SME customers. This role forms a critical part of the Computer Culture team and is jointly accountable for improving the performance of our loyal customers and their teams. The Systems Engineer will work collaboratively with the talented bunch of engineers within our Christchurch service delivery team to support the systems and infrastructure of Computer Culture and our customers along with providing technical assistance and expertise. We are seeking someone who demonstrates Computer Culture’s philosophy that our people have the solutions to challenges they face and can truly and effectively engage and build strong relationships with internal and external customers, providing quality solutions to their needs.
Skills and Experience
This broad and varied role requires a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer with a natural talent for establishing effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in an open, collaborative and approachable manner. A key element of this role is to identify and understand IT requirements and problem solve to deliver effective solutions. You will have a proven ability to build trust and work confidently with other System Engineers, Technicians and customers where required.
You will have trouble shooting and fault investigation experience, as well as a security first approach to design and implementation. You will understand the TCP/IP networking stack including wireless, advanced Microsoft 365 management including Exchange, SharePoint and Teams. Also required is Windows Desktop and Server administration along with automation and scripting experience.
You will have the ability to work closely with Senior Systems Engineers to analyse and make robust decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and cost. Additionally, you will have no problems rolling up your sleeves and helping out where needed in a busy service delivery consultancy environment.

A relevant tertiary qualification in computer science or related discipline and industry experience and knowledge is imperative.
