Reporting to the Director and based in the North Shore Auckland office, this key role will be responsible for leading the structural engineering team whilst contributing to the ongoing development of repeat and new business opportunities. This role also contributes to the success of EDC in achieving its business and strategic goals by delivering high quality professional consulting services to clients ensuring consistent levels of satisfaction. This role works as part of a professional team, supervising and performing day to day structural engineering design and supervision responsibilities, providing quality advice and checking of other engineers and consultants’ designs, as well as adopting best in-house design standards and engineering practices.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role you will be have an Engineering (Civil) Degree and professional structural engineering experience, preferably within the New Zealand environment. Ideally you will have previous experience in managing a team of engineering and draughting staff and experience in design with steel, concrete, timber and masonry structures. Key to this role will be the ability to engage with others, to build and maintain relationships and to rely on your excellent and natural interpersonal skills. You will enjoy working collaboratively and contributing within the team on projects with a positive and proactive attitude and enjoy customer interactions. You will be well versed in technology and time management, demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a professional manner.
