Our Client operates within the packaging manufacturing sector, providing customers throughout New Zealand with innovative packaging solutions, reliable service and value-based partnerships built on integrity and product excellence. This complex manufacturing operation located in Auckland produces a high number of finished products for a large FMCG customer base throughout the country.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this fantastic opportunity is responsible for providing management and inspirational leadership to the production, engineering maintenance, quality, safety and environmental functions of this business. This role takes a cross functional perspective, contributing to the strategic direction of the business unit and engaging with the team. This role also leads the performance improvement programme, ensuring required standards are met and that procedures and safety management plans are adhered to, while controlling costs and meeting the required targets.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will have proven leadership capability, a thorough understanding of sales and operational planning, be process orientated with robust analytical skills, and knowledgeable in continuous improvement frameworks. Ideally you will have past packaging or similar product manufacturing experience and knowledge of best practice manufacturing principles. You will demonstrate sound leadership skills and the ability to lead, inspire and develop a diverse team of functional specialists. You will have the ability to take a strategic perspective whilst being able to adopt a hands-on approach where required. You will also be able to make critical and commercially astute decisions in a dynamic and demanding environment.
