The Role
The role reports to the Executive Director and is part of the management team. This is a broad and ‘hands on’ position. You will manage the finance function and design and maintain systems that build the capability of the Trust to achieve desired strategic outcomes.
The role requires a creative and dynamic thinker who is familiar with the charitable sector and is able to analyse and communicate risk and opportunities enabling strategic and operational decision making.
You will support the Trust by preparing monthly and annual financial reports, budgets and strong commercial analysis. You will be responsible for all financial and general accounting activities, financial reporting, GST, accounts payable, receivables, payroll, managing the Trust’s investments, IT and other systems. You will also support the Executive Director and Board in evaluating, advising on, developing and executing all financial related matters and new revenue opportunities.
This was previously a part-time role that has now expanded and would suit either a 0.8 or 1.0 FTE.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate a ‘hands on’ ability to manage the finance function and develop robust systems and processes. An accountant, with experience working in either a commercial or not-for-profit organisation, you will possess excellent organisational, relationship building and communication skills. Working to benefit society you will be part of a growing and dynamic team. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
