Reporting to the Board, you will lead a future focused, diverse economic development agency. You and your high-performing team will deliver an ambitious economic development programme, including Innovation and Business Growth, Urban Development, Visitor Attraction, City Promotion and Major Events. You will cement Christchurch’s place as an innovative, connected, prosperous and sustainable city for generations to come.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing clear, compelling strategic direction, vision and aspiration for the city’s future
- Setting and achieving financial, commercial and organisational objectives
- Providing leadership that inspires, enables and empowers your team to succeed
- Engaging stakeholders and forming partnerships that amplify the work of ChristchurchNZ
Skills and Experience
You will be Christchurch’s strongest advocate; an astute, energetic and emotionally intelligent leader and innovator, delivering through your capability and actions. With demonstrable success in a comparable high-level delivery role, you understand the complexities of operating in a public arena while building strong, valuable internal and external relationships. A clear thinker and communicator, you frame your thinking through an economic development lens to support evidence-led decision making.
