The Role
Reporting to the Group Manager District Assets you will be responsible for implementation, execution and completion of the Westland District Council capital works programme including the management and control of contractors. This is a new position which is integral to “making it happen” and success in implementing these projects will make a key difference in our strategy and our commitment to the Westland community.
Your Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will have proven knowledge in civil engineering and construction programmes. Wastewater and water management experience would also be an advantage. You will have excellent project management skills and the ability to manage and safely lead subcontractors and suppliers to meet the project goals and timelines.
A sound knowledge of the local Government environment and its’ processes would be advantageous.
You will have a relevant qualification and experience in civil engineering and project management. A good understanding of the New Zealand Standards of Contract is also a requirement. In addition, your exceptional stakeholder management, relationship building and communication skills, both written and verbal will be crucial to your success.
