We were thrilled to see such an incredible turnout at our inaugural For-Purpose Fireside Series. Representatives from a wide range of for-purpose organisations across the region, alongside community leaders, came together for an evening of connection, collaboration, and inspiring conversation.
The highlight of the evening was guest speaker Sam Stubbs, who truly embodied the spirit of a disruptor with purpose. Sam shared Simplicity’s bold commitment to addressing housing inequities in New Zealand, announcing their largest project to date – a $500 million development in Queenstown. Unlike traditional developments, this project focuses on providing affordable housing for essential workers such as teachers, nurses, and police officers, rather than luxury accommodation.
Beyond the presentation, the event provided a valuable opportunity for networking and strengthening relationships across the for-purpose sector. The energy in the room was inspiring, with so many passionate individuals united in their desire to build a stronger, more purpose-driven ecosystem for our communities.
We’re excited to continue this series and look forward to bringing more opportunities for learning, connection, and collaboration to the for-purpose sector.
