Port Marlborough is a forward-thinking port and marina business with operations across multiple sites in Picton, Waikawa, Havelock and the wider Marlborough Sounds. Port Marlborough’s marinas business unit operates under the brand of Marlborough Sounds Marinas and is privileged to manage three substantial and comprehensive marina facilities at Havelock, Waikawa and Picton. The marina operation is a central service hub for recreational boating, community access and commerce within the Marlborough Sounds.
Guided by five strategic pillars — People, Planet, Prosperity, Partnerships and Performance — Port Marlborough is a values-driven organisation where Hauora, Kaitiakitanga, Mahi Tahi, Pono and Kairangatira shape the way the team works every day.
With technology playing an increasingly important role across the business, Port Marlborough has an exciting opportunity for an IT Coordinator to join their team. This is a varied and people-focused role, combining technology coordination, project support and helping employees make the most of the systems and tools available to them.
About the Role
Reporting to the Digital Strategy & IT Manager, you will support the delivery of technology initiatives and digital improvements across the organisation. Working with people across a diverse range of operational and office-based environments, you will help coordinate projects, support the introduction of new systems and ensure employees feel confident using technology in their day-to-day work.
A key part of the role will be building relationships, understanding people’s technology needs and providing practical training and support. You will also assist with technology administration, documentation, supplier coordination and cyber security initiatives.
About You
You will bring proven experience working with business technology and systems, supported by a relevant qualification in information technology, business technology or a related field. You will have sound knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint administration, along with practical experience supporting technology projects and system improvements, or training others. An understanding of cyber security and information management practices would also be valuable.
Alongside your technical experience, you will be positive, approachable and a natural relationship builder. A confident communicator, you will have the ability to make technology accessible and support others to embrace new systems and ways of working.
Organised, adaptable and solutions-focused, you will be comfortable juggling priorities, taking initiative and following things through. Above all, you will bring a genuine interest in technology and a practical, collaborative approach.
