They now have a career defining opportunity for an up and coming accountant to grow their career, build their agri-sector experience and support a well-established rural client base across the Oamaru region.
The Role
This role sits within a supportive team environment and focuses on managing and servicing a portfolio of long-standing rural clients. A large proportion of the work is within the agricultural sector, so an interest in farming operations, seasonal business cycles, and rural commercial drivers will set you up well.
You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, tax returns, GST returns and wider compliance work, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency and meeting deadlines.
You will also work alongside clients to develop cashflow forecasts and practical financial insights that support both day-to-day decisions and banking requirements.
Client relationships are central to the role, with plenty of opportunity to build confidence in engaging with clients and becoming a trusted point of contact over time.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will be qualified and experienced agri acco This role will suit someone at an early to mid-stage in their accounting career who is looking to grow their experience within a rural and agri-focused environment.
Ideally you will be an experienced accountant wanting to deepen your exposure but you may be earlier in your accounting career with some solid practical experience already behind you. Either way, what matters most is your attitude, your approach to learning, and your interest in building strong capability in this space.
Beyond technical capability, to really make the most of this opportunity there is an expectation of ongoing learning and development within the agri sector, and a willingness to engage with the wider rural community, participating in and contributing to regional agri events and networks.
