Key Responsibilities
Based in Christchurch and reporting to the CEO, you will be a trusted business partner to the CEO, Board and wider team. In this role you will lead the accounting, financial and company secretarial functions of ASG, ensuring operations are efficient, compliant and aligned with legal, policy and strategic objectives. Delivering clear, accurate and timely management accounts and reporting, you will provide the executive team, Board and shareholders with the strategic insight needed to make informed decisions. Monitoring margins and key financial drivers, you will also provide robust forecasting, ensure accounting and governance compliance and optimise operational and financial performance. This role requires a combination of commercial acumen, strategic expertise and practical delivery, enabling you to influence business outcomes and support sustained growth.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive experience in financial leadership, business partnering and corporate governance. With a proven track record in leading finance and accounting functions, delivering clear, accurate and timely management accounts and reporting that enable informed decision making at both operational and strategic levels. Experienced in forecasting, budgeting and financial planning, you will confidently provide insights advising the CEO, executive team, Board and shareholders on financial and commercial opportunities. Your commercial acumen, analytical expertise and collaborative approach will allow you to build strong relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders, influencing outcomes and supporting sustainable growth. You will ideally have experience in mergers, acquisitions and private equity backed environments, with the ability to optimise group structure and enterprise value. Strategic in outlook, you will bring a solutions focused mindset, high emotional intelligence and the ability to translate financial insight into practical business impact.
