About the Role
Marlborough Girls’ College is seeking an innovative and motivated Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning to join their passionate Senior Leadership Team. As a key member of the team, you will lead the College in strengthening teaching practices, driving curriculum innovation, and ensuring that the academic needs of our diverse student body are met. You will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record of inspiring educators, fostering student growth, and delivering exceptional academic outcomes.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong Organisational & Communication Skills: Ability to manage a complex portfolio and communicate decisions clearly to staff.
- Problem-Solving & Adaptability: Stay calm under pressure and manage the unpredictability of a school environment while effectively problem-solving.
- Leadership Experience: Previous leadership experience, with a strong understanding of school demands.
- Proactive Engagement – Actively supports and drives student-led initiatives.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi – ensuring that teaching and leadership practices are culturally responsive and inclusive.
- Tech-Savvy: Knowledge of current educational technologies, including AI.
- Experience with Diverse Learners: Ability to support students across various academic levels.
- Collaborative & Empathetic: Strong interpersonal skills, working alongside staff with empathy and a team-focused approach.
- Visibility and Approachability – Being visible around the school and approachable to both students and staff.
- Resilience & Boundaries: Ability to manage workload while maintaining personal resilience.
