Sales Engineer (South Island)

The Role
Located in Christchurch and reporting to the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion of MacEwans’ presence further throughout the South Island market. This dynamic, hands-on role, requires you to spend significant time on-site with clients, building long term, trusted relationships with both new and existing clients, and developing ongoing business opportunities.

Taking accountability for the South Island territory, you will conduct sales planning (in conjunction with the General Manager), execute the sales plan, manage the sales pipeline and forecasting, track performance against targets, whilst keeping accurate records of sales activities.

This role enables you to apply your technical expertise to develop fit-for-purpose pumping and fluid management solutions, that are both practical and commercially viable, with the support of the operations and technical teams.

You will be become knowledgeable of industry and market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs, to guide the business development strategy and ensure efforts are aligned with the market. Conducting networking activities and leveraging industry contacts to generate opportunities, referrals, and new business partnerships will lead to greater success.

Your Experience and Skills
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate proven success in sales development, preferably within industrial pumping or a related technical industry. Having knowledge of pumping systems will be advantageous. Strong relationship development skills and commercial acumen are essential, along with excellent sales planning and selling skills.

This role will appeal to those who like to work autonomously and enjoy collaborating with a wider team, and those who enjoy regular local travel and customer interaction. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital, as is a self-driven, motivated and results-oriented mindset.
