To support this, SDT has created a new People & Safety Manager role. Reporting to the General Manager and part of the senior leadership team, you’ll lead people, culture, training, and health & safety across the business. This is a practical, visible role working closely with operational leaders and crews.

- Lead recruitment and workforce planning, with an immediate focus on driver quality and retention
- Establish and embed fit‑for‑purpose HR systems, processes, and performance frameworks
- Provide leadership across employment relations, performance management, investigations, and organisational change
- Build training and development frameworks that ensure compliance and meaningful capability growth
- Provide strategic leadership in health and safety, working closely with the Senior Health & Safety Advisor
- Deliver reporting and insights to senior leadership and the Board
- Drive continuous improvement across people, safety, and organisational capability
About you
You are a commercially minded, experienced people leader with strong HR and/or health & safety capability who is comfortable in a fast‑paced, operational environment. You build trust easily, enjoy being hands‑on, and can translate strategy into simple, workable systems.
If you are ready to step into a senior, influential role where you can shape people, safety, and performance in a growing organisation, we would love to hear from you.
