Waimea College, a well-regarded local secondary school, is seeking a highly organised and adaptable Admin & Support Staff Leader to provide leadership and direction in their school office. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy, diverse environment and enjoys overseeing the smooth operation of administrative systems. In this role, you will oversee and coordinate core administrative functions, providing day-to-day leadership, ensuring everything runs efficiently behind the scenes.
About the role
In this full-time role, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the school office, supporting a small and dedicated team while ensuring smooth processes for HR, policy compliance, and vendor relationships. You’ll work closely with the Business Manager and senior leadership to ensure policies are up-to-date and operational needs are met. You will also assist with important tasks like recruitment, onboarding, and managing relationships with key service providers.
About you
This is a role for someone who is systematic, highly organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Ideally, you will have a relevant qualification or proven experience in an administrative or team leadership role. You will be confident with systems, quick to pick up new tools, and able to guide those around you in using them effectively. You’ll enjoy being a key part of a supportive team, where your organisational skills and ability to streamline processes will directly contribute to a well-run, efficient learning environment.

Remuneration & Hours
• 40 hours per week (between 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday)
• 45 weeks per year (7 weeks leave by agreement with the Business Manager)
• Hourly rate: $37–$45 depending on experience
