Commercial Contract Services Ltd (CCS) is a respected consultancy providing commercial and contractual advice, tender support, and dispute resolution services across New Zealand’s construction, civil, roading, and engineering sectors. They work with a wide range of contractors and industry specialists on some of the country’s most significant projects.
They are seeking a Construction Contracts & Commercial Advisor (Law or QS Qualified) to join the team in a flexible, remote capacity, offering between 10 and 30+ hours per week. This role is ideal for someone who values autonomy, varied work, and the ability to structure their hours around other commitments.
In this position, you will review tender and contract documents, identify and communicate commercial risks, prepare client submissions, and assist with negotiations. You will also assess project delays, cost impacts, and contractual entitlements, while supporting clients through negotiation, mediation, adjudication, and related dispute processes. The role may also involve providing commercial or legal oversight within CCS’s governance engagements.
We are looking for someone with a relevant qualification in Law or Quantity Surveying, with familiarity in NZ construction contracts such as NZS 3910 or NEC preferred. Strong communication skills, professional integrity, and the ability to work independently across multiple client matters are essential. Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who values genuine connection. CCS is a very tight‑knit team, and the right personal fit matters. The successful candidate will enjoy building long‑term relationships with both colleagues and clients.
CCS offers fully remote working, highly flexible hours, competitive remuneration, and exposure to a wide variety of construction and infrastructure projects. You will be supported with professional development, including membership in the Society of Construction Law NZ and participation in relevant conferences and events.
If you’re seeking meaningful, intellectually rewarding work in a strongly connected team that values long‑term relationships, with the flexibility to fit around your life, we’d love to hear from you.
