About the Role
Nelmac Kūmānu are seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead their Landscape Construction, Maintenance, and Carpentry division across Te Tauihu/Nelson and Marlborough. This role will see you leading a well-established and high-performing team to ensure continued operational excellence, outstanding client service and to support growth opportunities outside of the region.
You’ll lead and manage our Landscape Construction, Maintenance, and Carpentry teams to deliver exceptional results while overseeing all aspects of operations, including budgeting, tendering and team leadership. Your commercial expertise will see you leveraging data and insights to identify opportunities for improvement and to expand Nelmac Kūmānu’s service offering. You will be adept at building strong client relationships and ensuring projects meet contractual and quality standards. This role also champions a proactive health, safety, and wellbeing culture, while fostering a positive team environment aligned with Nelmac Kūmānu’s values of Respect, Responsibility, and Guardianship. It’s ideal for someone who is confident with numbers and thrives on strategic thinking, problem-solving, and creating high-performing teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business management, business development or contract management within landscape construction, maintenance, or related commercial contracting services.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen and contract management expertise.
- Prior experience leading teams towards high-performance outcomes.
- Exceptional written and communication skills and ability to create professional and accurate tenders and documentation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to manage complex projects and deliver operational excellence.
