The Opportunity
NBS is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function and drive financial performance at a critical time in its organisational development. The CFO will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial management and reporting, liquidity, compliance, and capital adequacy management while providing strategic financial advice to the CEO and Senior Management Team. As a thought leader in the finance function, you will actively contribute to long-term strategic planning, ensure financial compliance, and take responsibility for treasury and risk management. Introducing enhanced rigour around finance, systems, processes and analysis to ensure the organisation is fit for future growth and aligns with risk management and compliance strategies is a key aspect.
What you’ll bring to the role
You will have proven experience in senior financial leadership, ideally in both commercial and finance sectors, with a strong track record in business transformation. You’ll provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, the Board, and stakeholders, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, modelling, and compliance. Strong leadership and people management skills, along with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams, are essential. A qualification in Finance, Commerce, or a related field, plus CA/CPA accreditation, is required. Also, sector experience in banking and/or finance institution is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be a persuasive leader with strong integrity, able to make sound decisions under pressure. You will navigate complex situations with attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and thrive in a dynamic regulatory environment. Your relationship-building abilities will help foster a strong compliance culture across the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a respected financial services organisation with a desire to make a positive difference for the communities to which we belong. NBS offers a dynamic working environment where you’ll be empowered to make a real impact on the financial future of the organisation.
If you are a strategic, results-oriented financial leader with a passion for innovation and change, we would love to hear from you.
Applications close Wednesday 1st October.
