Due to growth, we are looking for another Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join to join our tight-knit engineering team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and developing the next generation of Flightcell products, contributing to everything from initial concept through to product integration, testing, and support.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, integrate, and test avionics hardware in accordance with aviation and internal quality standards, including ISO 9001.
- Take ownership of new product design, including prototyping and construction, arising from team planning sessions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (software, QA, production) throughout the product lifecycle.
- Contribute to product development planning and project prioritisation.
- Conduct research into emerging technologies and industry standards to support procurement and innovation.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for hardware designs, requirements, and specifications.
- Actively support the ongoing compliance and development of quality management systems.
- Offer technical support to customers, including troubleshooting, installation advice, and remote configuration.
- Provide hands-on support to the assembly process to ensure products are delivered on time and in full.
- Maintain a collegial, collaborative, and productive working style that aligns with Flightcell’s values and team culture.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven 5+ years’ experience in hardware design, preferably within an avionics or electronics environment.
- Strong understanding of design standards and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in hardware documentation and configuration processes.
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to product development.
