The Banks Peninsula Conservation Trust (BPCT) is a non-profit organisation that works with landowners, agencies, mana whenua, donors, and the wider community to promote conservation and enhancement of indigenous biodiversity and sustainable land management across 110,000 hectares of Banks Peninsula. In 2003, the Minister of Conservation recognised BPCT as a trusted thought and operational leader in biodiversity by granting the organisation covenanting authority status. With a team of over thirty, the Trust is the only non-government organisation to grant conservation covenants and is highly regarded as a successful, community-driven organisation in biodiversity protection.
