New Zealand Institute for Minerals to Materials Research (NZIMMR) is a newly established organisation to drive a step change in value and thinking in the use of New Zealand’s mineral resources. NZIMMR aims to substantially increase the prosperity of New Zealand by moving the focus of activities from mining of minerals to manufacturing of minerals through research and its commercialisation.Reporting to the CEO you will be leading research, development and commercialisation activities ensuring these are aligned with the company’s strategy and goals. A key focus of this role will be to identify technology and research opportunities, manage internal and external research projects, contractors and team members. Stakeholder management including developing and maintaining strong research and industry networks will also be critical to this role. You will be experienced in the principles and practices of research and development and have previous experience successfully delivering research commercialisation ideally within the minerals or related sectors. Strategic thinking, proven project management and commercial acumen, excellent stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills will all be required to see success in this role.
